Alan Wake 2 Returns 6 Scratch Walkthrough

In Alan Wake 2: Return 6 – Scratch, players need to find Alan and give him the clicker before it’s too late. This walkthrough will guide you through the mission, but please be aware that it contains spoilers.

Visit the Sheriff’s Station:

  • First walk through the forest, leaving the Edwood Palace Hotel and returning to the Falls of Light.
  • The Sheriff’s Station entrance is on Main Street, but things don’t look right due to the power outage, and the Sheriff’s Station appears to be abandoned.
  • You’ll find an injured FBC agent hiding in the closet. Search the area, eliminate lurking robbers, and pick up the Sheriff’s Station map.
  • Talk to Estevez to learn more and find out where Alan is, but you won’t be able to contact him while the power is out.

Turn the power back on:

  • Use the key to open the Sheriff’s Office and enter code 723 to get the pump action shotgun.
  • Head through the conference room to the basement and look for a door that can be opened with the bolt cutters. There is a cult hideout here, code 146.
  • Continue south to advance the story, talk to Cathy, and get the fuse from the fuse box located in the same room.
  • Get ready for a fight, because several abductees rush into the basement.

Strategies to beat Scratch:

  • Return to the first floor and contact Estevez, then head to Allen’s holding cell.
  • Talk to Alan to trigger a cutscene and you’ll soon be facing Scratch.
  • Scratch has a black shield that cannot burn, but you can damage him. Look for the glowing boxes around the arena.
  • Shoot Scratch until he stops moving, then run to one of the boxes, activate it, and shoot Scratch to stun him. Repeat this for all boxes.
  • When all boxes are activated, a cutscene will be triggered, ending the current chapter.

Alan Wake 2 gameplay

In Alan Wake 2, players experience a survival horror adventure from a third-person perspective. Unlike the first game, which combined action and horror, this sequel focuses entirely on the horror aspect.

Players can choose to play as Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in a separate single-player story. The stories can be played in any order, except for the opening and ending sequences (specific to Saga and Alan respectively). During the gameplay, the player explores different environments and fights enemies using guns and flashlights. The flashlight can be focused, making enemies vulnerable to gunfire, but it runs on battery power, so players must use it strategically.

Players need to manage a limited supply of batteries and ammunition to survive. When an enemy gets too close, Eren or Saga can perform a dodge move to avoid the attack.

A new feature in the gameplay is the “Heartland”, which players can access while controlling the Saga. This space allows players to pause the game and access a visual representation of Saga’s thoughts. Here, players manage pin boards to connect clues and solve the main mystery. In addition, players can analyze characters and collect clues in the land of hearts.

The game also features manuscript pages that foreshadow upcoming events in the story, a returning element from the first game. Different from its predecessor, “Alan Killer 2” includes a dialogue tree system, which increases the depth of player interaction in the game.
