Bone Tomahawk Diagram

In the 1890s, two bandits, Purvis and Buddy, stumbled upon a Native American burial ground. They are suddenly attacked, resulting in Buddy’s death while Purvis manages to escape. Seeking refuge, Purvis arrived in the nearby town of Bright Hope, where he carefully buried his stolen loot. Deputy Chicory witnessed the act and reported it to Sheriff Franklin Hunt, who confronted Purvis.

When Purvis tried to escape, Sheriff Hunter shot him in the leg. To bring medical aid to Purvis, Hunter sent John Broad, a skilled gunslinger, to fetch the town doctor. However, instead of finding the doctor, Broad met Samantha O’Dwyer, the doctor’s assistant and the wife of the injured Arthur O’Dwyer. Hunter asked Samantha to go to the Sheriff’s Office with his other deputy, Nick, to look after Purvis. That night, a stable boy in the town was murdered.

After discovering the horrific murder, Sheriff Hunter returns to his office only to find it empty except for an arrow. The professor, a knowledgeable Native American, determined that the arrowhead belonged to a tribe known as “cavemen” and helped locate their valley on a map.

The professor warned Hunter that the cavemen were an inbred, cannibalistic group shunned by other indigenous tribes. Hunter is convinced that Samantha, Nick, and Purvis have been captured by the cavemen, and despite his injuries, Hunter assembles a rescue team consisting of Chicory, Broad, and Arthur.

After several days of travel, the rescue team’s camp was accidentally discovered by two strangers. Brod, fearing they were raiding scouts, killed them. The party established a new camp, but was soon attacked by raiders, who wounded Brod’s horse and stole the rest.

In the ensuing chaos, Brod and Arthur got into a fight, exacerbating the wound on Arthur’s leg. Chicory decides to stay and tend to Arthur’s recovery while Hunter and Broad continue walking. Finally reaching the caveman’s valley, the rescue team found themselves ambushed by a savage tribe.
